AC - There is a portable HVAC floor unit in the bedroom and is usually all that is needed. There is also a window unit in the living room for the middle of Summer.

Heat- There is gas as well as efficient electric units on the wall. Both are fine to use.

Due to high humidity and moisture here, along with the massive amount of bugs, the windows and doors should NOT be left opened at the cabin for any reason. We do understand the desire for "cool mountain air" but please do just go outside:)

Fire-Pit

We are in a class 10 fire district so...

Fires should not be left unattended for any reason whatsoever.

We may send out a text to immediately discontinue usage of the outside fire pit when we receive safety alerts from local officials.

There are places to purchase bundles of firewood at just about every gas station, grocery store, and everything in between in the area.  Many guests also use sticks, twigs, and such from around the property which is also perfectly fine with us.

Fireplace

We are trying to allow guests to utilize the fireplace but please note we reserve the right to discontinue at any moment. With the rise of vacation rentals it has become almost impossible to allow this amenity to be used any longer. Many insurance companies will no longer even cover if a fire occurs. We are sorry for the lengthy instructions but this is completely necessary for a short term rental.

Only use authorized fire starters, we have provided a few, to start the fire. NO accelerants such as lighter fluid, gas, etc should be used.

You should only use dry, bundled wood; not wood from outside.

You must remain in the dwelling until the fire is completely out. Do not start the fire unless you can be here for the duration.

Wood should remain in the fireplace.

Use the broom/dustpan to clean up any ashes that have spilled out of the fireplace. Hot coals should stay in the bucket.

If you are unsure how to start and/or put out an inside fire you should NOT start the fire.

If you are unsure how to start and/or put out an inside fire you should NOT start the fire.
